HAARLEM, THE NETHERLANDS (January 25, 2006) - DAX Archiving Solutions, established supplier of digital archiving solutions, introduces its On-Line smartDAX Bravo XR Archive.

The On-Line smartDAX Bravo XR Archive solution provides an archive on hard disk and (backup) duplicates on labeled DVD media as it automatically creates copies of the archived data to DVD. Archived data remains instantly and random accessible. In addition, write-once DVD duplicates are created for archive, backup, disaster recovery and legal compliance purposes.

Similar to the existing smartDAX product portfolio, DVD optical technology guarantees permanent copies of all archived data on low cost, standardized and non-proprietary DVD media. It also provides a true WORM (Write Once, Read Many) medium which is essential considering todays requirements for unalterable, non-erasable digital archives.

Innovative is the combination of optical DVD Technology with the on-line part of the digital archive, a 1.2 Terabyte (scalable to any size) hard disk. This hard disk provides immediate and random access to archived data . The included DAXfs archiving software offers built-in HSM functionality and enables network-attached archiving in the standard drag-and-drop manner.

DVDs are backed-up and printed by Primera Technologys Bravo XR Disc Publisher. Bravo XR automates the process of recording and direct-to-disc professional printing of up to 50 DVDs at a time. The integrated 4800 dpi color printer ensures professional printing and labeling of DVDs. All supplies and finished discs are accessible entirely from the front of the unit allowing the Bravo XR to be placed on shelves, on or under counters or even mounted in a standard 19” 4U rack opening.
